"You are SO present - SO believable. YOU, my friend, are the genuine fucking article."
LARRY MOSS (on Ryan Farnsworth)
FOR "BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical"
"[Sara] King and Farnsworth could not be more lovable as the rival songwriters (Weil and Mann] with their on again/off again relationship and Mann's "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" was a total showstopper."
-Jay Irwin (Broadway World)
"Another dynamic duo on stage is Sara King and Ryan Farnsworth, who portray Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann respectively. Their chemistry is undeniable and their voices blend beautifully. King's strong character balanced with Farnsworth's impeccable comedic timing and delivery made for some of the most enjoyable exchanges in the show."
-Analisa Swerczek (Broadway World Nebraska)
"Sara King and Ryan Farnsworth...are fantastic as individual performers, as onstage partners, and as the counterpoint to...Carole and Gerry."
-Chloe Ravinowitz (Broadway World Pennsylvania)
"Farnsworth’s Barry Mann is reminiscent of the kind of light, cheerful, romantic, sidekick character that Donald O’Connor used to play."
- Bob Ashby (DC Metro)
FOR "GODSPELL (Theatre Aspen)"
"Ryan Farnsworth, as Jesus, functions as a twinkly-eyed ringmaster and deftly handles the show's abrupt shifts in tone from vaudeville bits and silly sections — and some beat-boxing — to earnest moral lessons and, yeah, the crucifixion. He commands attention throughout, whether strumming a guitar or ukulele or reciting the beatitudes, but his brightest moments are in his ballads that bookend the show, "Save the People" and "Beautiful City."
-Andrew Travers (The Aspen Times)
FOR "NEWSIES (Tuacahn)"
"In Farnsworth, Tuacahn has found a true gem – a skilled actor and dancer who plays just the right combination of toughness and vulnerability. In Farnsworth’s hands, 'Santa Fe' soars, opening and closing Act 1 with impressive confidence" - Bruce Bennett (St. George News)
"Ryan Farnsworth as Jack is fantastic. He emits a charisma that had audience members clamoring to join the Newsies...[he's] a great dancer and singer. I dare you not to cry at the last note of “Santa Fe"...[and] he does a great job [of] leading the audience through this wonderful story with his acting." - Kendra Hill (Front Row Reviewers, Utah)
"Ryan Farnsworth is at once enigmatic and endearing as Jack, giving us a hero worthy of our adoration while also brandishing the vocal might to bring home songs like the emotionally powerful 'Santa Fe.'" - Brian Passey (The Spectrum).
FOR "CANDIDE (New York)"
“What innocence! What purity! What devilish eyes!...Ryan Farnsworth, where have you been all my life?!” – Myra Chanin (Huffington Post).
"While you’re at it, hire a handsome but vulnerable-looking Candide. He must always be haunted by the fact that in those days being illegitimate was a lifelong curse. Ryan Farnsworth constantly acknowledged that the stain of that shame could never be erased. But he was brave about it, too, so the audience felt for him. (Getting an athletic Candide doesn’t hurt, either; Farnsworth did some solid and seemingly effortless push-ups on the altar rail.)" - (Musical Theatre International)
"Farns" attended UC Irvine, where he was the first ever student to graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre. He was encouraged by his mentor (Award winning arranger, Roger Emerson) to pursue musical theatre as a career, and while at UCI he received honors in both Musical Theatre and Acting, and performed in almost twenty different productions.
Ryan prides himself on being "a jack of all trades" - strong in almost all fields of performance: acting, writing, comedy, drama, Shakespeare, stage and film, and all forms of music composition and performance.
More than anything, Farns is a very hard worker with amazing drive, a fantastic work ethic, and an easy-going California personality. He's obsessed with fitness, fantasy football, the San Francisco Giants, and having a good time with as many friends as he can.
He is a proud former voice student of Dr. Daniel Gary Busby, and now studies with Broadway great Kurt Peterson. He frequently takes class with Bob Krakower for film, and was selected to study under world-renowned instructor Larry Moss.
Ryan Farnsworth is from the small Northern California town of Dunsmuir (population 1500), and currently lives in Manhattanville, NYC.
